1 Month Old!!!

Happy 1 month Birthday Jalen!

He turned 1 month yesterday and had is check up at our wonderful pediatrician's which went very well. He is 7lbs 8oz now and 20 inches long. He is in the 10th percentile for height and weight which is up from before when he was only in the 5th. The doctor was amazed at how well he holds his head up on his own, I have been working with him and trying to put him into positions where he uses his muscles to hold his head up instead of me just giving him 100% support, that's the PT in me I guess :o). He was also very impressed with how alert and focused Jalen is which he has really become more attentive in the past couple days and is starting to really pay attention to the toys that hang down from his bouncer.

He also told us we can take him on walks but need to be very careful about having him around a lot of people yet. At 2 months he will have his shots but it isn't until 3 months that they recommend them really being out and about and around a lot of people because that is when their immune system is more developed. We have to be especially careful too because it is winter and RSV season so as we have already planned his baptism for the end of the month, we are going to have to be careful and limit his contact with people (the doctor specifically old us church wasn't a good place to take him yet since it is such an enclosed area).

Oh also for those who have asked, I have lost 25 of the 35 lbs I gained...I am now down to 125 so only 8-10 more lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
